Who has the longest tenure in Atlanta radio now?

Since Steve Goss got the axe a week and a half ago, who has the longest tenure (not counting sports broadcasters) in Atlanta radio? Would it be Dave "From Conyers" Baker who has been on WSB since I was a kid?

Sorry..off topic I know: anyone remember the show Dave did Friday nights on WSB? I think it was trivia or something. It was hilarious...

Yes I do. I remember those shows. I also think he was a host or co-host of a College Football scoreboard show on Saturday afternoons before or after a Bulldog game too.

Scott Slade has to be pretty close -- he did traffic back when Bobby Harper & Kathy Fischman ran the WSB mornings with Kim Peterson doing the news.

Panda from Viva is now the longest employed Clear Channel morning host. Of course that is not hard when they are searching for his new partner and 3 other morning shows.

That leads to another question...who is the longest running jock at CC Atlanta right now?

94.9, 96.7, and 105.3 do not have jocks yet.

That leaves 105.7 and 96.1.
I don't know much about the Viva jocks. I don't know when they started on the station and which ones have been there from the beginning.

Outside of Viva, I guess Aly from Project 9-6-1 may be the longest running. I don't remember when she started. She was on 96.7 The Buzz by at least early 05.

However, apparently Fin is still at CC Atlanta in an unknown position and he's been there since August 04, so he may have her beat.

That's pretty bad if between 5 FM frequencies the oldest jock only goes back to 2004.

Rhubarb has 20 years(?) doing mornings @106.7.
I believe Harlon Joye at WRFG has been doing "Frday Nights on Sunday nights at Fox's Minstrel Show" for some 35 years!!

As my long time friend stated, Rhubarb has got to be one of the longest now at least in Major Market Radio in Atlanta is concerned. Although I really *Hate* to say this but for some reason I just have never accquired a taste for his style. As well as the other country person on the air, Moby, (Give me a Yeah Baby) Just Yuk! I dont understand what's kept Rhubarb in the postion for so long... But never mind
I guess its his Down home humor.. God I cant stand it. Tom, We need to do lunch,
So we can catch up... Wanna see pictures of all your children that you didnt have when we worked together so many years ago. Do you all remember when the longest morning show in Atlanta was Gary Mc Kee on Quxie? Those were the days!

Kerry Browning, now the assistant news director at WSB, has been there since 1975. So I'm betting he qualifies as far as the longest tenure at one place.

How long has Steve McCoy been at it here in Atlanta?

McCoy was at Z93 1981-87, Power 99 1987-89. was gone to Texas for a year 1989-90, and started at Star 94 in late May 1990.

So it's 16 1/2 years continuously at 94.1 with no signs of stopping.

What about Leslie Fram? How long has she been doing morning at 99.7? Is it up around 15 years?

What about IKE NEWKIRK at WQXI and 94???? Hasn't he technically been around forever??

Ike Newkirk started at WQXI in 1971!

Nobody mentioned Kelly McCoy... he's been doing the same shift on the same station (WSB-FM) since Marconi came over on the Mayflower. Or something like that.
