Who is your favorite classic TV show character and why?

I've always had an appreciation for cartoon voice actors over the decades:

Mel Blanc-Bugs Bunny,Wile E. Coyote,Mr. Spacely,Captain Caveman and all the rest. He was also the original voice of Toucan Sam in the Kellogg's Fruit Loops ads in the 1960s.

June Foray-Rocky The Flying Squirrel,Natasha Fatale,Nell Fenwick among other Jay Ward characters who also was a voice actor on the old Stan Freberg CBS Radio show.

Daws Butler-Hanna Barbera's own man of a thousand voices including Huckleberry Hound,Yogi Bear and Quick Draw McGraw. His voice was also heard in Walter Lantz' cartoons,(notably Chilly Willy)and also contributed his voice talents for Jay Ward and Tex Avery's MGM shorts.

Joe Alasky-who picked up where Mel Blanc left off recreating many of his legendary voices.

Don Adams-Tennessee Tuxedo and Inspector Gadget

Dayton Allen-Deputy Dawg (of Terrytoons fame) Tennesee Tuxedo's sidekck Chumley....also voiced some of the puppet characters on NBC's Howdy Doody Show.

Frank Buxton-Batfink

John Astin-voice of Bull Gator in "Taz Mania" series

Artie Johnson-voiced many characters for DePatie-Freleng

Hilary Duff-she also voiced the animated incarnation of Lizzie McGuire.

Miley Cyrus-the voice of Penny in Disney movie "Bolt."

Last but not least is Jay Ward's co-producer Bill Scott who was also the voice of Bullwinkle J. Moose taking his inspiration from Red Skelton's character Clem Kaddlehopper.

Maverick(All of 'em)-Nice guys who once in a while didn't finish last.
"Kookie"/77 Sunset Strip-No one was cooler than the Kookster.
Wyatt Earp-There was no question who was in charge when Hugh O'Brian
was on the scene.
Hawkeye Pierce-The perfect anti-soldier, but in a good way.
Rhoda Morgenstern-I'd never stand a chance with Mary, but I might with
Rhoda.
Larry, Daryl & Daryl-A modern day version of the Greek Chorus.

George Costanza from Seinfeld (because you seem to meet someone who is
uncannily like that every other day of your life in the business world)

Robert McCall from The Equalizer (because his character was very enigmatic
and they'd just spin out a bit at a time to you in each episode...if the show
were still in production today we'd still be learning new things about him)

Sue Heck from The Middle (because an adult actress has somehow managed
to absolutely nail the angst and spastic energy of a 13 year old girl)

Scotty from Star Trek (because he was loyal, steady and reliable and could always
give ya more power)

Then you definetly must add Matt Dillon to that list.

Barnabas Collins (Jonathan Frid) - Dark Shadows (1966-1971) - Love the evilness

Crow T. Robot (all actors who played his voice) - Mystery Science Theater 3000 (1988-1999) - Love how he can be a smarta$$ at times.

Mike Nelson (Michael J. Nelson) - Mystery Science Theater 3000 (1988-1999) - Don't know why, just like him.

Jack Webb (Joe Friday, Dragnet/Badge 714)-from script writing through staging and production to editing, he did it all...with a great repretory company of supporting actors.

Sid Melton and Mary Grace Canfield, (Alf and Ralph Monroe, Green Acres)-surreal with a capital "S"-don't watch Green Acres with a buzz, or you'll go crazy! Also, notice they kept Canfield in baggy overalls to hide one of the best bodies on TV...notice her on the rare occasion she's out of those painter's whites...WOW!

Don Knotts (Bernard T. Fife, "The Andy Griffith Show")-what else can be said?
