Who of the "Who's Who" in the business are reading and posting to this site?

Who of the "Who's Who" in the business are reading and posting to this site?

I've often wondered if the really big air talents and off-air movers and shakers read this site and if so, do they pay attention?

There are a few like Archer and Bryan Simmons who post or have posted somewhat regularly with their actual names, but those folks aren't too numerous. I bet several others do at least read the site anonymously if they do not post. But to what extent?

I seem to remember a few years ago someone posting something to the effect that Rick Dees got a big laugh when he posted something anonymously about his show or KIIS-FM and Glenn shot him down as knowing nothing about the CC operation. I have no idea if that is true or if someone made it up - such is the nature of anonymous sites. But it makes me think - are some big shots posting here and we don't know it? Perhaps only a few on the "inside" can recognize such posts? It would be interesting to know.

I don't think there are many at the higer levels posting here, but there are quite a few who read the posts for markets they are interested in.

When I was a mod at RI, Charlie Van Dyke read the forums. I received a message from him once regarding some unfortunate posts by an individual.

ChannelFlipper:
Yes, that Rick Dees thing was funny! Don't know if it was really Rick or not.

Speaking of Glenn where is he?

Yeah, I was wondering where Glenn has been lately, too. Mimi Chen posts from time-to-time. I have seen Bob Hudson's posts too. David E is a somebody in the business, wouldn't you say?

If you are a "somebody" currently on the air and want to have some fun with the rest of us RI members, perhaps you should sneak in a mention of this site on the air and see if any of us catch it.

I love my Meemers. :)) And there are many of us out here reading these posts. More high-profile than I am, no doubt.

There's quite a few reading. Not so many posting.

Reliable sources say Farid reads these boards and may begin soliciting for cash sometime in January.

Well, here's a penny for his thoughts, er stock.

Of course any sensible person who loves or cares about their job will not publicly indicate that they are posting on a forum that could easily be used to get themselves in trouble. There are many who read but have enough self control to not post, regardless of how tempting it may be. Then there are those who just use different names. Then there are others who couldn't care less and just post whatever they wish all the time, some doing so because they figure "well, I have many career opportunities so what the heck. If I get in trouble with one for talking too much, I'll just fly planes or be a meteorologist or something else.."
