Who'll Be The First to Flip to Christmas Music?

Each year, the guessing game begins right about now about who will switch to Christmas music first, FM 100 or KOSY 106.5.
Or maybe a spoiler that none of us would think might switch. If there are stations thinking of a change in format come the new year, we all might be surprised as Christmas music is often used as filler until a new format debuts.

Your thoughts? I remember KOSY flipped on Halloween a few years back. When I worked weekends there, we usually flipped around November 5.

The first station to my knowledge this year that brought on Christmas music was KYXE FM 104.9 in Yakima. The station just signed on earlier this month, so it's new format will wait until after Christmas, but Central Washington gets its Noel tunes for 11-12 weeks continuously.

I was driving around today, I flipped through stations, and 106.5 was playing Christmas music. I don't know when it started, but...yep, there was Christmas music. Crazy.

I'm listening to KOSY's stream, and it's playing Broadway show tunes. Stunting? Or online-only program?

Showtunes Saturday Night has been a staple on KOSY since 1998, and runs Saturday nights. Though it has gone through multiple hosts, it is a popular feature at KOSY. Sounds of the Sabbath runs all-day Sundays featuring music that caters to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Learned something new! Thanks! I noticed that Sunday night they were playing Michael Buble and Burl Ives X-Mas stuff, so they weren't stunting like what I thought...
