Word is that WFAN's Sweeny Murti is the front-runner right now to take over Frantzke's pre- and post-game duties now that Scott is moving into the booth full-time.
Good for Sweeny. It's not every day that someone wants to lose an association with the Yankees. Then again, it's not like he was part of the Yankee broadcast crew; he was essentially a "beat reporter" for the Yankees on the station that doesn't even carry the Yankee games. Sweeny gets to be part of a team's official broadcast crew, and gets to be with the team he grew up supporting.
Sweeny has filled in on the Phils pre & post game shows in years past, and having worked with him, I know his dream has always been to be a part of the Phillies broadcast team.
It would be great to have him back in town. He's a great reporter and knows his baseball.
