Why are alot of the alternative stations in the country being blown up???

There are 4 i can think of just recently and in the past few months wocl in florida is now adult hits sunny 105.9 and waeg in augusta well that was an active rocker but formerly owned by radio one is now smooth jazz and it seems 99x in atlanta is gonna flip frequencies and become a revamped rock station. And also 96wave in one of the carolinas became an adult hits station also. I should feel lucky we have one alternative station here in louisville 91.9 wfpk. I know it is adult alt not alt but better then nothing.

Opinions greatly appreciated

WLRS is not an alt station it is a active rock station with very limited alt thrown in so i do not know why they would have an issue would what i said. Just stating facts. And a bad active rock at that they are moreso with the jocks and the imaging then anything else.

WLRS used to be awesome back when they were on 102.3,,, BOTH TIMES, and shortly after they returned on 105.1 they were still good, Except for the weak signal, but I agree, LRS usually just plays that Hard Butt Rock stuff now, I never hear anything like RadioHead, Coldplay, Moby, and ALt Electronica that a real alternative station would play. I like WFPK, they have a pretty good signal, and also the best sound quality, processing in all of Louisville, probably because they are an NPR station. Anyway, since were talking about processing, I think Louie FM needs to adjust their processing, the highs are too clipped for the Variety Hits format, I think they are still set up for the old FOX Active Rock Format. DJX is overly clipped and muddy as well. I used to love the processing on DJX back in the 80s and early 90s when they used just a touch of Reverb.
