Why did gsn stop doing the live interactive games and putting at home players on tv?

Gsn use to promote games on their website and put the top ten or so players up on the screen every hour on the hour during the day I think. Also they would do contests where they had people call in and answer trivia for a prize. Why did gsn stop doing interactive games like this? It actually added some personality and happiness to the channel.
