WHY DON'T CBS RADIO REBRAND B-96 96.3 WBBM CHIGAGO AS 96.3 AMP RADIO?

"B96.3" is a heritage brand, why would you dump a heritage like that? the WBBM-FM call letters have always been associated with 96.3 in Chicago even though there's News on 105.9 (simulcast of 78 WBBM) :)

Why don't they just change 96.3 to WCFS and STILL call it B96?

After all, nothing means anything anymore but what the corporation sez it means TODAY.

Then the WBBM calls are free to use on 105.9.

There doesn't have to be a "B" in the call letters to use B as a brand.
There's really not even any reason to use any number any more with modern branding.

Let's just call it the B, K?

B96 could find any set of call letters with the letter "B" and use them. Then they could use WBBM-FM on 105.9. Also, B96 should never change the branding they've used since 1984, that would be plain dumb.

This was discussed a lot when they made the switch and the feeling was that the branding on 105.9 of Newsradio 780 was more important than worrying about the call letters.
