Why I'm not too excited about Willie and his new Sunday night show.

Because, being local in Cincy, I can listen to him any day I want to (mon-fri).

Unless he pulls the plug on his daytime show (like that would ever happen) theres really no reason to get too interested.

The only scenario I can see of his show being truly interesting would be if he steps back from his republican indset and thoughtfully presents both sides of issues.

It's because he's local mon-fri that the weekend show provides a point of interest. He can do his schtick on a national topic rather than picking apart Bond Hill or Newport. His conservative tilt is different than the other national hosts. Rush and Sean are so full of bravado and they don't have the "clown" factor. Willie has better insights to political matters and workings than the rest, too.

Let's give it a chance before we decide it won't work.

Willie's getting heat from the Islamics now... Sounds like He's been listening to Micheal Savage lately

Clear Channel news/talk/sports WLW (the Big One)/Cincinnati host Bill Cunningham is under fire from the local chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. The group wants station management to reprimand Cunningham for what they call anti-Islamic remarks he made on the air Oct. 1.

All he said was that the major threat facing us today is Islamic Fascism and radicalism, its true. Furthermore I'm sick of all these special interest groups from CVV to LULAC to Media Matters trying to censor speech they find offensive.

I agree that there is potenial for a let down. If Bill simply rolls his mon-fri show into Sunday night slot, it probably will feel stale (esp replacing Drudge's successful-edgey format). Hopefully someone has expressed this to Bill and he makes the adjustments to more of a national feel. Anyway it goes, I do hope the best for him....

You are partially right. It would be stale to us in Cincinnati, but his act hasn't really been heard throughout the rest of the country. It may play well for the new audience.

After being away from Cincy for quite some time, and although I listen to Wille on XM, I look forward to listening to him on Sunday nights. I think he'll be fine, just as long as he isn't obsessed like Drudge on how Google is out to get us all, and play clips of Hillary's laugh every 3 minutes. Hopefully Willie isn't as political as Drudge.

y'all are lame for not having a little pride for willie.

Pride?

I once had pride in Mike McConnell. Look what happened to him when he went national.

If you want the liberal side of the news, tune into the Major Networks.

Actually, I think the move has lots of potential. I caught the last hour of the show and it was vintage Cunningham- but that's what has gotten him a national reputation with a local show.

Remember, Matt Drudge was hardly Joe the Liberal. The people who were tuning in to hear Drudge- if they are to continue to tune in- were conservatives.

The way this could backfire is that Cunningham is and always will be in-your-face. Drudge was VERY laid back, from the music liners to delivery.

The main thing I heard from Cunningham was that he talked sports on his show (giving ball scores in passing and such).

Drudge just didn't live in that world and when he turned the discussion away from politics to cultural topics- he usually commented- quite intellectually- on Hollywood.

That was perhaps the best reason to tune into Drudge's Show.

Well, I finally heard him last Sunday.

Just seems like Willie.

Being in Cincinnati, I'd rather hear Drudge, or someone different, as nothing Willie says seems new anymore.
