Why is Jim DiCesere's voice on the ID's instead of Ron Antel's on WJAS?

Jim DeCesare works for Renda's four-station cluster in Indiana as their Operations Manager. He also serves as Operations Consultant for the two Renda-owned stations in Punxsutawney and WGSM in Greensburg. They may be expanding his duties a little more.

Always enjoyed Jim's "Jazz Impressions" on WYDD. Much more credible music than anything WJJJ did. Since he works for Renda, it's too bad they don't see fit to let him do that show on WSHH Sunday mornings. You can get some nice upscale sponsors for a Sunday jazz brunch show.

You can hear his show on 107.1 each Sunday, at the usual 9-11am. Your guess is as good as mine as to why "Jazzz Impressions" isn't on WSHH. I remember "Nuage" was a popular program during the early 90's.

Who knows - Jazz Impressions may eventually make it to WSHH, but it's been a long while since Wish has aired any unique programming on Sundays. Back in the Beautiful Music days it had Ken Lamb's "Special of the Week" from WPAT, in the early to mid-90s Charlie Gray (then of the Civic Light Opera) did "Wish on Broadway" - a salute to various musicals at 9 AM on Sundays. And, as Ken mentioned, "Nuages" was on from 10 - noon on Sundays.

You might also recall that in between the station's "Wish for Lovers" and "Delilah", there was a smooth jazz program hosted by Alan Freed (obviously not THE Alan Freed) who later became the webmaster. I forget the name of that program, but it had a somewhat short life - perhaps only lasting a year.

'JAS seems to be the home of the unique weekend programming for Renda in Pittsburgh right now.

As I recall, Nuages was a time-buy by National Record Mart, and they produced the show, with Bob Studebaker hosting.

You're right...forgot all about that.
