Why is ME-TV In Tallahassee airing Fox 49 news?

I went to try to go watch Thriller and instead i found Fox 49 news on where Thriller is suppose to be

What was so bad about airing Fox 49 news on Fox 49 that would make them air it on Me-TV Tallahassee 49.1 instead?

Edit : Okay the preempted crap lasted till 5am...I hated that we got preempt crap on our ME-TV now, I'm gonna do some emailing I watch ME-TV for Classic TV Not Local News.

I thought that was a dumb move to move Fox to a subchannel and Me-TV to a main channel. Why did Sinclair allow this?

From the thread entitled "Sinclair pulling a Birmingham/Charleston in Las Vegas...and Tallahassee?" (edited for clarity):

Sinclair bought everything but the license for WTLH (since the FCC won't let them buy the station outright) and moved FOX to the subchannel of the NBC they own. That's how it's working now due to the FCC cracking down on owning more than 1 of the Big 4 in a market.

Gray Broadcasting has done it in ND & Nebraska
