Why no non-English music on English-speaking radio stations?

Americans have been indoctrinated to believe that the world revolves around us. "Welcome to America, now speak English!"

Please do not misinterpret this statement. America, that is, the United States of America, is truly a great Republic. Far from perfect, yet in its heart-of-hearts, a nation of good people who sometimes just "don't get it."

As to English music on the radio? Think about those 326 well-tested hits the next time you tune in competing Anglo-AC stations in any top 100 market in the United States.

To reiterate, there are no boogeymen lurking in the weeds. I'll stand by my original post. And why that damn KC & The Sunshine Band song ("I'm Your Boogie Man") just popped into my head is beyond me. Maybe it's those 378 spins I gave it in 1976. Gahhhh!

I only speak and understand English.. yet near 40% percent of the movies I watch are in French or Spanish. I have to agree with both sides here though. I have many friends who are typical Americans that just refuse to watch a foreign subtitled movie with me... Yet I think foreign films are terrific.

Yet the wonderful Spanish film Pans Labyrinth made 37 mil. at the box office
the French film Persepolis was at 5 mil when I last checked.
