I concur. It would be an original idea, which is sorely lacking in todays industry.

I don't know you Tony, but I think you are a little confused. What exactly do you mean by "all faiths"? CHRISTmas (emphasis added) is the Christian celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas is not an "all faiths" type of holiday (although people of other faiths do exchange gifts). It's Christian by definition.

What other "faiths" have quality Christmas music? Or any Christmas music for that matter? I haven't really ever heard any (unless you consider consumerism a "faith"). If you have an Islamic Christmas CD, please send it my way.

I am not trying to be malicious, but the whole concept of your post was quite ridiculous.

Please submit the Taoist, Bhuddist, Ilamic and Hebrew Chhristmas music, and a nice playlist can be ocmpiled. A spice of anamist and Druid stuff would make it nice, too.

Hmmm -- Hebrew Christmas Music, that would be very interesting -- from jewish peple that accept Christ as the Messiah.

Actually, a little Chanukah music would go well this time of year.

73,

I prefer Christmas music of the Percy Faith.

KEOM is playing music from other faiths

Whichever way you feel on the issue - KEOM has found some rather unusual stuff. I heard a Hannukah song on there this morning. So he is right - they have been doing solid HOLIDAY music since December 12. And I am right, KEOM is NOT full time CHRISTMAS music.

I never met an atheist yet that turned down a Christmas present on the principle of the thing.

Or correspondent Faith Daniels..or Singer Faith Hill. The Theme from "Faith and Hope" wouldn't do.

Madlyn Murray O'Hare did. Asked if she was truly an atheist, her response was 'Yes So Help me God".

I am guessing what Tony meant was to play Christmas music that appealed to all different denominations of Christianity, not to non-Christians.

The standard Christmas songs do have this cross'denominational appeal.

It is interesting that today´s Inside Radio has a comment from noted consultant Dan vallie where he says to keep Christmas song playlists short, emphasize the traditional songs, and play them a lot. He states that the songs are not burnt, as they have rested for 11 months. And he advises against getting caught in the trap of playing any new songs just because they are Christmas songs.

Apparently he has looked at the most successful stations that emphasize Christmas music, or which go all Christmas music in the season.

By the way, there were 302 all-Christmas music stations this year... up from 279 in 2004.

I would add that it has to be remebered that Christmas music appeals mostly to women, and this is the target of such emphasis on Christmas music.

Re: KEOM is playing music from other faiths

98% of KEOM’s library comes from TM Century Christmas GoldDiscs. So I’d call that about as close to “full” as you can get.

KEOM is also listed on 100000watts.com's list of full Christmas stations.

If that's right, then you are more full time Christmas than KLTY, which is playing "samples of what you will hear in the New Year".

I guess I'm just lucky - hearing the 2%. Statistical anomoly. Sure has been some interesting 2%!

Really? Have you questioned these people to find out if they're athiests? Do you have to believe in gawd or jay-sus in order to accept a gift from somebody in the month of December?
