This seems a good idea to Rebroadcast their AMs to 92.3HD2 or 105.1HD2 and have multiple IBOC channels and not wasting all that transmitting power for only the main IBOC channel.

Well i didn't pay that insane 150 dollars for an HD radio. I got my for 50 bucks.Skynet74 said:I was going to buy an HD radio once until I realized that it wold be insane to pay $150 to only get three or four more stations.
I've already did im using my tabletop HD radio has a pc speaker. You can already get any format imaginable over the net. Buy a $6 audio cable from Radio Shack and run it from your computer to your Stereo.

Cool. I just hooked up my laptop to a 37 inch HDTV. Now I can watch online video streamed to my TV instead watching it on a little screen. That's how I watched Holland's video from MSNBC. Now everything on youtube is like watching a TV show to me. The TV speakers are better than the laptop speakers, so last night I listened to a TALK radio station in London through my TV as well. Live video chats should be awsome too now that I can see whoever I'm chatting to right on my television screen. I Love technology! ;D

But I don't have internet access when I jog...or when I am out fixing my car...or when I am out on my back porch.
Nor do I want to bother "running a cable" to my basement, on my porch, or in my garage...or on my morning run. ! ;-)

Probably you can pull about 20 or 30 wireless connections some times it depends where you live. Also i bet you will find one unsecured. Here are some video about thisSkynet74 said:Maybe one day I will get one of these Super Wi-fi antennas to play with. I would like it just to see what I can pull in.
vetguy said:there is a minimum rights fee to Ibiquity of at least $1000 per year for each additional HD channel you add to the main channel. For the few HD radios around, the capital investment did not make sense when you are trying to save paperclips to keep the company alive.
This all assumes that the main stations are HD to begin with. If they are not, upgrading to HD could easily run $250,000 per station or more depending on what they need regarding new STL's, new transmitters, new antennas, etc.

I agree. I think it will be between Satellite radio and internet radio in the car. Hopefully cars will be equipped with both. Many have said that internet radio will kill of satellite radio. It could be true. Those satellites are damn expensive to keep in service.
