WHY WOULD PEOPLE NOT LIKE SMOOTH JAZZ MUSIC? THIS MUSIC IS TIIIGHT!!!!

Hello, thank you for your time. I'm here listenning at work on my lunch break listenning to WQJZ.COM. This is an affilate of "Smooth Jazz Station" from Jones Radio Network. Laurie Cobb (AKA Lynn Hughes) is on weekdays middays. Her voice is so relaxing and nice to listen to. Mind you, I am 33 years old male

They just played a new song "She Rides" by Soul Ballad. Now they are playing ["The Closer I Get To You" by
Reberta Flack. My opinion is, that is one of the BEST slow jams of all time thus far].
Now, they are playing "Sarao" by Chuck Loeb This sounds like .....hmmmm??? ...... It sounds like niiiiceee (Relaxing Dance Music)

Why would people not like Smooth Jazz? This music is nice to listen to. Especially on a Hot Day.
"It is so hot that; I stick my head out the window, put on the fan, pull the shades down, put on the Air Conditioner, and listen to SMOOTH JAZZ" ;D

This music is niiiiceeee!!

Laurie Cobb sound maddd hottttt. She is also cute.. The way she talk it make you want to listen more and more. She makes my day just listenning to her and listenning to this music (Despite the Eric Clapton, Santana, and Steele Dan Music) other then that, I love this music.

I wish we had this format here in Boston. They used to have this network on "Jazzy 99.1" but now, it is called "Easy 99.1" and they play Soft AC Music.
Thank God for online (WQJZ.COM) ;D

Your thoughts?

Thank you

-Cat Nap By: Nils is niiiiiceeee and smooooooth and relaxing

Why all theses Smooth Jazz Stations disappearing? Why?

This music is madddd COOOOOOLL!!! Nice and refreshing to listen to

Not a remake just a sample they use of the song. Kinda like the stuff my kids listen to and all of a sudden it's like that's a song from my day.(the sampling they use) Love it when the daughter say's no it's a new song.

To LAUROJRM and all of us smooth jazz / nujazz / etc. lovers:

Yep, agreed...and this format should be in EVERY market, BAR NONE. It is one of only a few formats that brings some great music and the people who love it together. The SJ/NJ crowd have always supported the music through events either at stations or by the artists...and that strength is still out there even though the music has been increasingly going 'under' thanks to the hacks that think they understand people, trends, and this business.

Don't forget: to the west of you about 90 miles is WEIB-FM 106.3, a great smooth jazz & r&b place which is wholly minority owned and doing well out of Northampton MA. They're on line as well. I don't get them here in Mystic but anyone in the greater Hartford/Springfield area is very fortunate.

Odd, how the so called 'hicks' of western MA get the good stuff while the so-called 'sophisticates' of greater Boston/Cape & Islands get the garbage...hmmm...makes you wonder who is really 'backwards'.

If you really, REALLY want to bring the music back, it's time to gather the troops. Find like-minded people with money and influence to buy something; if cash is in short supply, get something started on non-commercial radio (college stations are good places to look) or the net. Give it all the good stuff, not just the music, but the local flavor too - be personable - relate to the listener. Remember, you're not alone, there are many of us who want what you do!

Thank you @UncleDJ. Thank you for your (kind) responce. Yes, I'm familuare with 106.3 from Northhampton, Ma
I used to live in Amherst back in 1987. Nice area.
Yes, what about us here in Boston (area) of Massachuestts.
All these radio broadcasting companies and radio stations care about is numbers, but not look at the (real) people out there. They need to see BOTH; example, that new Costa Rican Priest at St. Margrets Church who love this music, or the Caribbean Owners at Mattapan Furniture, or the Chinese Bus Driver who knows limited English but love this music, or that beautiful 28 Year Old American Girl who has a learning Disability who don't know about computers nor can't afford an HD radio.
These companies must look at (not only numbers) but think about these (real) people who like and enjoy this music.

Thank you for your responce and advice @UncleDJ

There's nothing wrong with the music. We love it actually. The artists are being more creative and bold on their new releases. Check out Brian Culbertson, Candy Dulfer, Gerald Veasley and so many more. It's what the format has done to this music by ignoring it, and focusing on the bland "gold" library of boring instrumentals and overplayed R&B vocals. I'd be surprised if Culbertson or Dulfer gets the attention from BA they deserve because of their stepping outside the BA box with tunes you should be hearing on the radio. The music and the artists are cool. It appears they have woken up to what's going on. They need to expose their music to new avenues. What BA is about to do to the format as we knew it will not support the work of these artists.

Donny Osmond never sang a song called "How Long." The song "How Long" is by the group Ace.
