The bloodbath appears to have jumped to the AM dial with Wilbur on KVI and now Shannon on KIRO gone. Two long-time market vets toasted. So lets run down the list in the last couple of years shall we:


96.5: All talent GONE (automation)
KJR-FM; Morning Show GONE (no replacement)
KBSG: All talent GONE (no replacement/Simulcast then news)
KNDD: Corolla GONE. (cheap replacement non-morning jock)
KMTT: Morning Show GONE (cheap replacement non-morning jock)
KWJZ: Morning Show GONE (voicetracked jock)
KUBE: Morning Show GONE (cheap replacement night jock)
KVI: Morning Show GONE
KIRO: Morning Show cut in Half: GONE

Seems only Fitz and Jackie and Bender and BJ Shay have renewed deals. Who is next?

Did all these people deserve to go? When was the last time in Seattle you saw a great commercial or bus-side or billboard for a morning show?
Maybe it isn't just talent to blame for ratings declining, but talent seems to always get the blame.

wow slow down there captain ignorant. as i mentioned earlier, eddie and karen are probably the most refreshing jocks in the market. they break the mold, there's nothing like them. ppm is new and they're going to blow it out of the water. write this down because you'll need it. #1 12-24 by December, #1 18-24 by December, #1 18-34 by February, syndication by June. Z100 Portland needs help, Wild 94.9 needs help, etc. Eddie and Karen will be owning mornings in Seattle soon.

Here is something you can bet on, the morning show at Kube will be here a long time because they don't cost anything just like the morning show at MOvin. Kube and mvoin are getting everything they paid for and more and the station mangement is cool with that. No big deal, makes it easier for other talent. Let's check back in a month oaky becuase if you check out the weeklies kube's killer morning show has been going DOWN, not UP since the first week they started. The battle for 18-34 is between kISS and wolf and KISW. Sometimes posers like jACK, or STAR or WARM or END get in the mix but not for long. 18-34 in mornings is a three way horse race and poor Eddie and Karen are riding a donkey.

The saddest part of all is that the talent is gone and we are left with Jackie and Bender.

Their time will come. If the Wolf can damage KMPS which they did, as soon as another
CHR comes to town they will suffer as we have had to suffer listening to them.

I did just see a sign for Mitch Levy that I thought was clever..."Mitch's STERN warning - radio should be free."
 
STERN warning? That's gotta be at least 3 years old, right? This post is right on...where is the AM talent? I have to blame some of the old talent...I am sure they were offered less money, and wish they had taken it at this point so they could at least be employed. You are only worth what the market will pay you. I am predicting there will be a break out talent in 2010...and it won't be anyone that is on the air in Seattle right now.....hmmmmm.

No they aren't... they're blah, boring, too many commercials, music, etc. Most of the T-man loyalists have blogged about this. Eddie and Karen are no good, and much of the old audience have moved on. I'm going to bet that 6 months out, the PPM for E&K will be much lower than what T-man had at the same time last year.

Jakob, Jocks do NOT control the amount of spots that run in their show.
