WILL TRADITIONAL OTA RADIO ABANDON ITS ROOTS AND GO INTERNET STREAMING ONLY?

The other issue internet radio faces is consistency. Most of the stations are not full time, and they come and go like the wind, as most of them are hobby radio at best. With a lack of profit being an issue facing almost all internet stations, this will not change anytime soon.

Lack of a geographical limit on the signal virtually eliminates local business advertisers and puts internet radio in the position of having to court regional or national sponsors, and we can see how that has gone - not well. While OTA and internet radio may play similar content, that is where the similarity ends.

Simple answer: no.
The problem for internet radio is simple: people like it because it has niche formats with few commercials. If you can't monetize the listenership you can't keep the station on the air.
