William B. Williams Immortalized At NYS Broadcasters Hall Of Fame

Babylon's William B. Williams, longtime host of the "Make Believe Ballroom" on the old WNEW-AM (now WBBR) will be inducted into the New York State Broadcasters Hall Of Fame tonight, nearly a quarter-century after he died of colon cancer, a few days shy of what would have been his 63rd birthday.

The radio presenter, born William Breitbart, was responsible for coining the "Chairman Of The Board" nickname that has been synonymous with Frank Sinatra, one of many artists Williams played on WNEW.

William B. Williams to New York Radio is like what Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig was to the New York Yankees.

Thanks,
Kevin L. Sealy
