Wish 99.7 is already playing Christmas music as of November 3, 2024.

Yowza - Christmas music already? I won't start listening to it until after Thanksgiving.

Then again, I haven't tuned into a Pittsburgh FM in years aside from curiosity to see what's going on, so this really doesn't impact me much at all.

I remember dialing 99.7 in last year at Christmastime to hear what they were playing and remember a lot of distortion (probably from too much clipping in their processing?). Sure, they were "loud," but not good sounding at all. Hopefully they fixed that for this year!

I’ve picked up a few things from their processing, the audio they feed their processor is definitely brick walled. There’s an insane amount of phase rotation used and way too much stereo width. On top of that the clipper is definitely a few DBs in.

I’m not sure which box they’re using but you may be able to get an idea based off their demod values. If it’s 140~ definitely something omnia.

Correction: Wish 99.7 is actually airing Christmas Preview Weekend, and will switch to all-Christmas music all week long beginning in mid-November.
I was kind of surprised to hear it myself. I found out by accident because I was installing a stereo in my kid's car and was setting the presets. Yeah, a little too early for my taste. But who knows, maybe it gains them a ratings point or two (lot of $$), and now that they're down to a single FM station in their home market, they need it.
