Wishing Two People A Early Happy Birthday (WMBV And Ms. Jannie Venter)

WMBV in Dixon's Mills Alabama will be celebrating their 24 year of broadcasting in August.  I was excited when this station first came on in 1988. Remember where I was when this one signed on.  I was sitting in the parking lot of where Wal-Mart used to be.  I was surfing the dial that day and discovered this new station was on the air.  My mother and I was excited for my friend Mr. Rob Moore.  We was glad his first radio station had came on.  After many years, his empire has grown big time and I'm still excited for him.  Here's to many more years of broadcasting the Gospel to West Alabama and East Mississippi Brother Rob sir.  You are a legend indeed.

To Mr. Dan, that old shopping center has now been torn down.  It was caving in real bad anyway.  (This is the same one where Piggly Wiggly was located.) (Big K was in the last building, which would become our first Wal-Mart in 1981.)

Ms. Jannie Venter of WHBB fame will be celebrating her 39th radio anniversary this September.  She got her start back in 1973 on the old WTQX radio station.  This talented lady has been playing the Gospel tunes, for a long time now.  Her Gospel Train program is still going strong every Sunday night on the legendary WHBB 1490 AM.  This woman is amazing.  Gotta give it up for "The Hostess With the Mostess, Giving You That Double Dose of that Good Old Gospel Music, The Queen of the Radio Airwaves".  And yes...She's still running for Jesus.

Now if you want to learn more about this amazing lady and her contribution(s) to the Selma airwaves visit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7IF1Hea25M This clip was recorded back in 2010.
