With domestic violence charges dropped, ex-TV reporter Scott Madaus speaks out

Nearly two months after former FOX 13 reporter Scott Madaus was arrested on a domestic violence charge, he spoke out on social media — not about the charge, but how he regrets letting his viewers down.

In a Tuesday Facebook post, Madaus said he would not go into the details of what happened between him and his wife on Dec. 14, the night he was arrested. But he did say that he did not strike her, he did not brandish a gun and that she did not initiate charges.

"But because of that night I will forever be sorry from the bottom of my heart," Madaus said in his post. "I’m sorry for letting you down. I want to thank each and everyone of you for the messages, posts, texts, calls and more importantly the thoughts and prayers for my family."

Charges against Madaus were dismissed on Jan. 18, after an agreement was reached between prosecutors and his attorney, Leslie Ballin.

The charges were dropped.
