With Urban WAMO-FM out of the way, is WDKX next? PPM and the current state of the economy is like a music filth removal system.

JerseyDude said:All Urban music isn't filth. Maxwell,Mary J Blige,Chrisette Michelle etc is good R&B music. PPM may not be in the Rochester market, but the economy is hurting Rochester just like any other market. Im sure the owners of WDKX are feeling it also.
The owners should edit the songs a little more than they are. Maybe try not playing some of it. I heard a lot of bull on the station earlier today.
It kills me when folks white folks comment on black music and black radio. I think there is extra space under that rock for you.

Wow. Not only are you on the wrong board (there's a Buffalo/Rochester board), I think you may be on the wrong planet.
WDKX may well be the single most successful station in Rochester right now. The Langston family carries no debt, they run a tight, tight ship, and they have phenomenal listener loyalty that they've spent 35 years building up.
And unless you automatically equate all urban music with "filth," then you're really showing your ignorance here. The Langstons long ago vowed to run WDKX as a clean station, meaning you won't hear even heavily-edited versions of certain suggestive or violent tracks there.
Oh, and there's no PPM in Rochester, either - and given the size of the market, it's unlikely that we'll have it here for many years to come.
I think I hear the empty space under your rock calling you. Time to crawl back home.
