WJZY & WMYT-TV sold to the Fox TV Group...

Well, if you use an OTA antenna, then the TV will still tune to 36.1, 3.1, 9.1 etc. As the analog numbers are still used in the branding identification as dictated by the FCC during the digital conversion. But the real digital channels are now 22, 23, and 34.

I don't know when it happened, but last night I was not seeing "Fox Charlotte" on the 10:00 newscast. Instead, everything was changed to WCCB.

I saw that this evening myself, after ''Bones'' and ''The Following" concluded. I watched for a few minutes before switching to NBC for ''Revolution''. They must be silently preparing the Ch. 18 Viewers for an up-and-coming-change...

I believe this started over the weekend or on Monday. The only on-air reference to "Fox Charlotte" I now see is the semi-transparent "bug" in the lower right during Fox Network programs. I even noticed the other night that my DISH Network on-screen guide for WCCB's local news programs now display as "WCCB News Rising", "WCCB News at 10", etc.

Also, the Fox Charlotte website is now WCCB and www.foxcharlotte.com now directs to www.wccbcharlotte.com

FOX's Future Remains Uncertain --- Not sure how many caught this one:

What in the World??? .... is Fox.... Coming or Going as a Broadcast Network TV Station?

Steve.

Saber-rattling. They're doing a legal battle with a company that uses a technology they can't make money off of. The courts have ruled what this companuy is doing is legal, and Fox is saying they will go to this length to keep their programming off of this technology without compensation to them.

Later.....

This is probably right. Drove by the WCCB 18 Studio Today off of Washburn and Monroe Road. They still have "Fox Charlotte" up there at the Parking Lot Entrance.

Still waiting to see if WCCB becomes CW affiliate or if some other change in the marketplace occurs. But does likely appear as if WJZY will become FOX-46. No sure if Antenna TV, This TV, and Jimmy Swaggart subchannels will remain. As FOX is launching their own Movies! channel. And they will probably start a news program, although WCCB still seems successful with theirs.

I saw "Fox Charlotte" during "The Simpsons". I was going to say that's syndicated but I could have seen it during the network version.

I think the semi-transparent "Fox Charlotte" bug in the lower right corner of the screen is the only "Fox" reference that remains on WCCB.

So we'll have 2 CW stations and no Fox Station in Charlotte...lovely. ???

This is old news - Fox bought WJZY and WMYT from Raleigh-based Capitol Broadcasting back in January and thus notified WCCB it was pulling its Fox affiliation, pending FCC approval. So, WCCB began exploring its options in January. It was assumed WCCB would take CW, since WJZY will likely become the Fox affiliate this summer. The MyTV Network (on WMYT) is already a network that is run by Fox, so it would seem that "My" will stay put on WMYT. So, to summarize, this summer (June or July, because I've heard both) the CW will move from WJZY to WCCB; Fox will move from WCCB to either WJZY or WMYT.

Wow so why swap channels if all 3 are gonna be Fox owned...I see no benefit to that.
They will both still be over the air...just swapping 27 with 46 I guess.

I dont get most Charlotte TV here on Gaffney SC cable (Charter),
just WBTV (on channel 2) and WSOC (on channel 99).
So I can't follow the switch over the coming months.

We used to get WJZY but Charter took it away like 3 years ago,
as they said it was duplicate programming with WYCW.

Get a good UHF antenna and you should get good reception of all the Charlotte TV channels in Gaffney. Better pic quality as Charter doesn't offer the Clt locals in HD. I get a strong signal from the Dallas towers in Mauldin, but on the edge for WSOC and seldom WCCB. WBTV, WJZY, WMYT, and WCNC are strong, and in Gaffney you should also get WSOC and WCCB, as well as the Crowders Mtn translator for Channel 9 on RF30.

I'll have to get that, I just don't really watch local channels that much unless it's the news.
One of my neighbors gets OTA TV and lots of the Channels from Greenville & Charlotte do great.
Actually sometimes its a hard time getting WLOS here,
but they are simulcasted on WMYA's secondary channel.

I wonder why Charter lets us get WBTV & WSOC on cable
and not the whole set of channels from both Greenville & Charlotte,
being halfway between the 2 cities, Charlotte being much bigger I'd rather watch their stuff.
A friend of mine in Spartanburg doesn't get any Charlotte channels on cable.

When I lived in Ocean County NJ almost 10 years ago,
we got all of the NYC & Philly stations on cable
and that was halfway between those 2 markets....

WCCB is owned by Bahakel Communications. WJZY and WMYT were purchased by FOX Broadcasting earlier this year.

How long do you think WCCB news will be on the air after WZJY starts their newscast?
