WKDU 91.7 adds "Democracy Now" to morning lineup

Philly now has a (relatively) strong city signal airing the popular morning news show Democracy Now.

I believe WPPM-LPFM 106.5 airs it, too, but WKDU has a much larger signal than that.

Wheeewwwww weee I am not gonna open up this can of worms. I simply stated a programming change, not a political opinion to be found. However I do take serious offense to the "poor excuse for a radio station" line. WKDU is an extremely unique station in the Philly market, with a wide array of musical genres to be heard from Jamaican to Indie rock. There is nothing funny or necessary to you slamming the station like this.

And secondly, WURD still has a very vital position on the radio dial as the only black owned news outlet in Philly. So yeah, many still want and need WURD. And as someradioguy pointed out, we somehow went from WKDU to wibbage which truly shows how out of touch you are. I like oldies as much as you do, but I am happy with WMGK HD2 for that fix.

Oh and one final thing- you say "one sided agenda" as if WNTP or WPHT aren't one sided in the other direction??? And also, Democracy now is neither communist nor one sided. They are one of the most respected news shows on radio today. Perhaps it is you who has the problem, NOT WKDU.

Come on Democracy Now just happens to have managed their operations better than Pacifica Radio. At least Democracy Now has become more respectable over the years.
