WLNY NYC CBS station logo looks like the KCAL 9 Logo in LA.

Finding it interesting guys on an L-A TV board would talk about a New York station, and the only commercial Long Island station at that.

In case any of you wonder what the "10/55" means...It's kind of like in San Diego (there I go talking about another market) and NBC7/39 KNSD or KUSI 9/51. The "10" is the channel on most of the cable systems it is seen on in the NYC tri-state. There are exceptions like my system Cablevision of CT which has it on 15 (and in HD on that channel as well as 710). The 55 is its old analog signal dating back to when the station was called WLIG in the 1980's and carried basically table scrap reruns of shows like Combat, Family Affair and People's Choice (Jackie Cooper). It is seen for those who go the antenna route on channel 47; virtual channel 55.

WLIG which was added to Cablevision of CT in 1995, changed calls in 1996 to the present WLNY.

You can find out more about what I guess is New York's answer to KCAL's interesting history here.

I'm surprised WSBK-38 in Boston (also owned by CBS but a My Network TV station, unlike KCAL and WLNY, which are independents) doesn't have a similar logo to WLNY and KCAL.

WSBK could adopt a logo exactly like WLNY's, with "WSBK" on the top, "MY" in the upper-right, and "38" on the lower-right.
