It's a good bet that you're likely to see a lot of morning programming on having and preparing for the arrival of a new baby over the rest of this year on CBS-TV's 10-55 morning show "The Couch". It was announced on Friday that both female show hosts, Carolina and Lisa, are pregnant.
That leaves the singular male host, John Elliott, as the odd man out. By the way, these three folks are also regulars on Channel-2 WCBS-TV's early morning newscasts.
It's also going to be interesting to see how management handles having two of the three most important cast members on maternity leave for any extended period.
But, on balance its not only great news for the two ladies and their families, but probably great news for the younger female targeted talk show, which will get a lot of buzz and a lot of mileage out of this situation in the young female, and target demo, community.
Congratulations to Carolina, Lisa, their husbands and their families. And congrats too to CBS which also will benefit, despite having temporary host substitution problems to deal with.
