WLW's signal. Is it weaker recently to the southeast of Cincinnati?

I listen sometimes in southern Clermont County. It seems weaker the past couple months. Sometimes the Catholic station (I think 740) seems nearly as strong or equally as strong. This is usually in the evening, I suppose after sunset.

Or, maybe 740 has boosted its signal....or both have occurred.

Thanks

Brian

I wonder if the 740-AM station follows the path of the Ohio River in coming in there. Isn't some of that area hilly? Perhaps you are south of the hills and that may effect WLW's daytime signal where you are.

I've listened from there for many years with it booming in as it always has done everywhere else around town.

It seems weaker in the last couple months, either that or 740 is much stronger.

Its not hilly. Its just flat land with a big valley of the Ohio River. If your in the valley it seems hilly as you look up, but its all just flat land at the top, north of the ohio river.

It might sound a little weakerer SE of Cincinnati, however last Sunday night I was able to pick up 700 WLW in Hays, Kansas; about 150-200 miles away from the Colorado border like it was a distant local station while driving in my Ford Explorer on I-70l istening to a factory stock radio . It came in clear enough I had to make sure I wasn't listening to their XM channel (I wasn't). WLW was comming in more then a thousand miles away from their transmitter with less fade then KOA in Denver was 350 miles to the west...radio can be weird sometimes, as you likely know, often times allot of reception issues are caused by changes in weather, environment, etc.

When I lived in Gettysburg PA I was able to pick up WLW at night to hear the Reds games. Here in Richmond IN, we have trouble at night picking up WLW. It fades in and out too much for me so I download the podcast of Scott Sloan's show.

"....so I download the podcast of Scott Sloan's show. "

Oh, you do not...

I think Sloan is hilarious! I know he is Randy Shabaz and Willie Cunningham came out and said he was also Randy Furman. Oh and I think they need to get rid of Segman. That guy gets on my last nerve!

I've noticed a decrease in signal ever since WLW installed its IBOC HD transmitter. I always hear a hiss in the backround and its now noticeable 24/7.
