WMBN Moving TL To Legacy WJML 1110 Site At 2175 Click Rd. Petoskey, MI

WMBN is moving their TL to the Legacy WJML 1110 Site at 2175 Click Rd. Petoskey, MI. No word yet on whether MacDonald Garber Offices and Studios will be consolidated there also. Plenty of room for STL antennas and LOS to many.
"Michigan's Beautiful North" and part of the Paul Bunyan Network!

It's really sad that no one realized that 750 with 1 kW Day and 330 Watts Night could have been a viable station. A CP for another new station on 750 expired, and a slight increase in the Night power was possible. The signal was quite good. With measured conductivity and contours, the Day power could also have been increased substantially. Part of the problem is competitors trying to get rid of such facilities if they cannot own the station under Section 73.3555. Believe it or not, the market has 46 stations according to the WMBN TL Change APP, allowing 8 stations to be owned, up to 5 in one service.

Good to hear from you, HGR1290. And from the rest regular posters here on this section.

I think I told you that WHGR 1290 wouldn't have had to be deleted, after WOOD did proofs on their new DA and TL, and subsequent measurements. I think the strongest AM signal in Houghton Lake is probably WSGW 790 now.

I was probably one of the first to hear WJML 1110 DXing during pre Sunset critical hours back in the Fall of 1966, in Genesee County. They made mention that they had to go out to Beaver Island to make some measurements, and had concerns about the Fall weather making boating out there dangerous. I didn't know they were doing a DA proof of performance at the time, as I was quite young. It did take quite a while for them to get the LIC granted. It was one of the first DAs in the Straits Area, and maybe the FCC didn't realize that the actual conductivities were at variance with M-3 by quite a bit and questioned it.
