WMFP-DT 62.2 showing mixed signals as of late.

A couple of weeks ago, the normally silent WMFP-DT 62.2 sub was running a "wild feed" with color bars from Disney TV overnight for one night on a Saturday night/Sunday morning. It was gone the next morning. This morning the video was blank but the audio on it was that of the "Shepard's Chapel", a very conservative branch of Christianity. (Personally, I would have prefered the late great Dr. Gene Scott to be fed on the sub. That guy was a hoot!). I'm wondering if they are going to do something with that 62.2 ? It's too bad they don't get RTN (Retro Television Network) or the upcoming "This TV" from Weigel Broadcasting and MGM. Any ideas?

Speaking of WMFP, the audio on their main channel has had something wrong with it for quite a while now. It may be out of phase or something, because you can't even hear audio on it with some TVs.

They must be reading these pages! No sooner did you mention about WMFP's audio being sounding "out-of-phase", Jeff, they fixed it. I know their analog on 62 has always been in mono. However, their DTV transmitter on 18 is operating in Stereo. Since most of their material is being broadcast in mono, the 62 side was in the mud (low modulation)for a while the 18 side seemed a little off center, as an out-of-phase would sound like. The audio on 62.2 which was running the audio of "The Shepherd's Chapel" (with no video) for the past week or so is noticeably silent. It probably was a test for a perspective client (maybe Shepherd's Chapel) to broker the time on the 62.2 stream. We shall see. How I'd love to see either RTN or This TV to buy the stream. Oh, well.

It should be noted that most DTV "encoders" can be set to (1.0/Mono) mode, so DTV channels can in fact operate in mono.
