What will happen to 1160 once WMLB moves to 1690?
WMLB-1160's site is actually in Cobb County-Austell if I recall correctly. WWAA-1690 is on Cheshire bridge rd. That might account for some of the dead areas you encountered.BarryATL said:I decided to listen to WMLB today while driving around. I was not impressed with the signal quality. I live across from the tower farm on Cheshire Bridge Rd and drove up to Doraville and back. Lots of places where the signal fades and static that I normally get on the lower powered AM's. Looking at WMLB's pattern and the power of 50,000 they should not be having signal issues in my area of the city.
No. 1690 is on the expanded band. Stations on 1610 - 1700 currently can only have a max of 10,000 watts day and 1,000 watts night. 1690 has a good signal a few miles outside of I-285 and then starts to have the same problems we have been describing with 1160. 1690 has a superior night signal (compared to frequencies below 1610) because there are not as many stations on that frequency to interfere with it.BRENT said:Will this still be 50k when it goes to 1690??
