WNAC news but not news about MY and WWE

Personally I am a fan of the WWE and an announcement was made this week that the CW cancelled WWE's Smackdown and "MY" signed on to air it beginning this fall.
I fired a e-mail to WNAC to see if they had plans to air the show at another time over the weekend. Alot of youg un's are fans of the show.

I recieved a very nice response and this is pretty much what I got out of it. that WNAC will continue to air "MY" programming in the timeslot they have now 11:30-1;30 am next season and they are excited to have the rights to air "Smackdown" but because they are not the main affiliate and time constraints they cannot move the show or replay it over a weekend afternoon spot.Smackdown will air 11:30- 1:30 on WNAC.That's the best they can do.

With no disrespect to WNAC if your a fan of the show your going to have to do what I have been doing anyway, DVR it and be happy the show is even on in this area.

Has WLWC-TV (CW) channel 28 of New Bedford ever aired MY on a secondary basis?

Why would WLWC air "MY"?

"MY" is a FOX owned network.WNAC gets the programming for nilch. My friend swears up and down that it will more than likely jump to FOX eventually if they can't get more affiliates to carry "MY" live.

I'm sure Vince McMachon will not tolerate Smackdown being aired latenight in alot of markets.

I realiza the cost measure of WNAC-TV picking up the MY network programming. I mentioned channel 28 because they had a primary/secondary setup in the past, did they not? (UPN/WB?)

True, Which is something I was surprised with.Airing the competeter network.Don't forget WJAR carried WB too as a secondary network in the first year or two because they had nt put WLWC on the air yet when they were operating it.At the time the WB was only on Sunday nights. I remember working at WBLQ 99.3 and watching Unhappily Ever After the Married with Children rip off show on Late night Sundays.

Ah yes! Unhappily Ever After, the God-awful show which first brought us a then-teen Nikki Cox. I watched a few episodes with Geoff Pierson and Stephanie Hodge and, you're right, it sucked! Bobcat Goldthwait voiced the rabbit or whatever. WTNH-TV (ABC) channel 8 of New Haven carried WB on Saturdays at 11:30 PM when they started as a 1-night network in 1995. WB would eventually get shifted to WTVU-TV channel 59 of New Haven, who's signal wasn't so great as first (I got a snowy color signal, but was still watchable here in New Britain). They signed on in 1995 and would later up their signal and become WBNE-TV, calling themselves WB59. Channel 59 would then become WCTX-TV and switch to UPN on January 1, 2001. WB went over to WTXX-TV (CW) channel 20 of Waterbury/Hartford. You can thanks Tribune's stake in WTXX for the switch to WB.

So let's see: Since WWF Smackdown! started in 1999 as a prime time special taped in New Haven in the spring of 1999 (my brother was at the show), it's gone from channel 20 (April 1999 to December 2000), channel 59 (January 2001 to September 2006), channel 20 (September 2006 to present) and soon back to channel 59 (September 2008 to ?).

Lastly, did they say the show will still be produced in HD? I can only get WCTX-DT (MY) channel 39 with an antenna as Comcast does not carry their digital station in New Britain or Hartford (analog 59 is on cable channel 9, hence their MY-TV 9 slogan). Can tape-delayed network programming air in HD for Providence either? The only HD we ever see here is when it airs off the network in real time.
