WNAP (and others) Reunion on Jeff Pigeon Show Friday

AllAccess.com reports that WNAP Alumni Chris Conner, Bruce Munson, Freddie Fever, Ron Belo, Buster Bodine, Tom Cochran, Big John Gillis and Mike Griffin will be guests of Jeff Pigeon (101.9 WKLU) Friday February 6.

Rebel Porter ex of WIFE, WIBC, etc. and Jerry Baker ex of WIRE, WIBC, etc. will likely also participate.

Article states that Mike Griffin preceded Bob & Tom, but Steve Cooper would be the correct person for that designation, correct?

You are correct. That's what Coop told me several years ago when I met him.

That is correct. Actually a duet with Coop and Carey Carlson. Griff was before them.

Well, they tried Coop and Carie but it didn't work and Coop did mornings solo. Carie returned to evenings. She was there until the famous evening impromtu party in the Q95 parking lot Summer of 1983. A station vehicle was damaged and she and the PD got fired on the spot by the coked out GM. Both she and the PD actually came over to the WTUX studios (30th & Meridian at the time) to cut demo tapes for landing their next gigs one Saturday afternoon when i was on the air.

I was the board-op for that lovely event.

Carey decided to take a microphone and a table out to the parking lot and invite listeners to come over and fill out entry slips for an autographed Gary Moore guitar.

The Marion County Sheriff's Department had to be called out to direct traffic. Place was trashed, someone damaged one of the Q vehicles parked there...if I recall it was someone hit the bumper on a Bronco or Blazer, pulling it part of the way off of it. Way too many people turned out for the fun, left the lot trashed....The PD was John Bogart...I think he had also said before the event he planned on leaving the station, this just speeded up ther process.

Didn't know Freddie, Steve knight, was still alive, former State Senator Bruuuuuuce Munson, what's he doing now? he used to have a label on his car that said munson of muncie and I asked him if he was like the Indiana Chief that visited my elementary school that had his name on HIS Cadillac....His family had a dealership however.

Got to listen to the show today and it sounded fun. Would have liked to hear more of Buster Bodine though. Chris Conner sounds as good today as he did back then. Hey does anyone remember when WNAP use to play the WKRP song, but they had their own customized ending, I'm at WNAP in Indianapolis. Cool!

I figured I would miss it having to work, but found the breaks on KLU's website in .mp3 format...great hearing everyone. Chris and Griff sounded really good and it sure brought back some memories.
