WOEZ (EZ 88.3) transitions from Beautiful Music to Adult Standards

I was passing through Knox Vegas the other day when I heard Mike Blakemore running a spot announcing WOEZ would switch to Adult Standards the day after Christmas. I've listened to that station many times when I've been in Knoxville, and it has been predominantly Beautiful Music with a few "singers and standards" thrown in.

So the day after Christmas, I was in the Knoxville area again and listened to the new EZ 88.3 which is now pure Adult Standards. I think they use the slogan "above the standard" now or something to that effect. I also think they are fully jocked or at least voicetracked all day long.

Anyway, does anybody know what's up with EZ 88.3? Why the switch? Can somebody confirm if they are live or v-tracked? Thanks.

I mentioned this on the easy listening board about a week ago. I think the new format sounds awful. It's a lot like the failed WRDA (Red 104.1) in St. Louis. I really liked the old EZ 88 format better and was sad upon hearing the news about the change. But I was surprised by my lovely wife this Christmas when I received XM and now I can listen to all the easy listening and beautiful music I want. Whooo Hoooo!!!!! Goodbye WOEZ, nice knowin' ya!
