Those two DJ's are among the ones being spotlighted in this DISCOVER TIMES cable channel program. I've tuned in midstream.

Showed Cousin Brucie at WCBS-FM studio, taking a request for ROCK AND ROLL IS HERE TO STAY by DANNY AND THE JRS (a real rocker that "oldies" stations don't remember, those stupid idiots).

The program is a good flash to the past.

Looks like it's going to be repeated tonight at 11:00 p.m. ET.

Lots of great rock and roll.

This show spotlights the time when DJs were more than just announcers. When they had imagination and brought color to their shifts. They weren't hand tied and told when they could take a drink or visit the restroom, as management now requires. Heck, they can't even burp without approval, let alone say anything that's not on a liner card.

Wonder why they don't say what the songs are much anymore? They only play a certain number of songs. It's assumed the listener is well aware of the titles.

That's easy! On the station's that are voicetracked it makes it easier to insert a generic voicer with an artist's name instead of having to record one with every song title.
 
I thought it was amusing when you saw pictures of Cousin in the 60's with no hair then they show him in 2005 and he has a wonderful thick head of hair. How the heck did that happen! LOL!

HAHAHA YES!! I saw that and it WAS a hoot. Still have in my garage somewhere the "Silver Dollar Sound Survey" with Bruce's picture complete with receding hairline. But on that Discovery Channel special (which I really enjoyed) didja notice a lot of the old shots of Cousin Brucie at Palisades Park and other appearances, they cut off his hair at the top of the screen as many times as they could get away with!
 
He should have worn a hat in the sixties as Murray The K did.
