WOR 710 AM Stream Broken from thestreamcenter as of 10/21, any alternate links?

Starting today 10/21/13 I noticed the direct stream link from thestreamcenter.com / streamtheworld for WOR 710 AM just streams silence (and a noticeable hiss). It was working Friday.

http://provisioning.streamtheworld.com/pls/WORAMAAC.pls

The iheartradio stream continues to function normally.

Anyone have any other working back door links like this one? I love using the tuneinradio app with this manual URL and now I'm forced into using iHeartRadio.

The only change I know of is WOR moved studios, and starting today started to broadcast out of the Clear Channel 'bunker' with the rest of their stations. Different building, etc.

iHeartradio...

Thanks for your suggestion Lee. However as I posted in my original post, I am using iHeartRadio now as its my only choice.

I preferred tunein radio more as it allows me to just use 1 app for all my radio needs, plus I like the ability to pause the live stream and then hit play when I'm ready.

That was the reason for me asking if there are any other known direct stream links.

There were four studios at 111 Broadway with different call-in numbers. Today John Gambling at 6:00, Mark Simone at 10:00, and Joan Hamburg at Noon gave 800-321-0710. Simone posted photo of studio at his Twitter site.

Old streamtheworld stream is the same at this posting as mentioned above: streaming, yet silent.

CC uses Akamai ... I am guessing the Streamtheworld was "left over" from the previous ownership -- Best place to find WOR now is via iHeart as it's a Clear Channel station and they will do everything in their power to ensure you access via their iHeart platform.

Thanks everyone for your comments! pjc1961's link is a lifesaver.

And I'll agree that most likely the streamtheworld link was left over from buckley broadcasting's ownership.

Looks like someone unplugged the source plug, but forgot to turn off the computer LOL (in that we hear silence/hiss for the stream).

Yes, thanks pjc1961 for the good link! Where did you find that? Can you point me/us to a list for more I Heart streams?

iHeart Direct Streaming URL Search Tool

Use the following URL template/formula for all iHeart streams:
http://www.iheart.com/a/live/station/XXXX/ -
replacing "XXXX" with the 4-digit code (occasionally a 3-digit code) for each individual iHeart stream.

The code for each stream is embedded towards the end of the "Listen Live" URL obtained when you click on the "Listen Live" link from the iHeart.com website or each station's website.

For example, for WHTZ New York (Z100), their Listen Live URL is
http://www.iheart.com/live/1469/?autoplay=true

Thus, Z100's 4-digit code is "1469". Plug that into the template URL above:
http://www.iheart.com/a/live/station/1469/

Clicking on that URL leads to an information screen for that particular iHeart stream.
The URL listed after the words "shoutcast_url": will be the direct streaming URL
(you'll have to remove the back slashes for it to work).
Most, but not all iHeart streams provide a direct streaming URL.

In the Z100 example,
http:\/\/whtz-fm.akacast.akamaistream.net\/7\/579\/19972\/v1\/auth.akacast.akamaistream.net\/whtz-fm
becomes
http://whtz-fm.akacast.akamaistream.net/7/579/19972/v1/auth.akacast.akamaistream.net/whtz-fm

Copy and paste the final URL into your media player of choice (do not attempt to open in a browser).

Thanks so much for WOR's new URL and especially for the extremely useful method to get any iHeart URL.

I wasn't able to sniff the new WOR URL using the sniffing SW that usually works: URL Snooper, Feedly, and Streamtransport. Do you know why the URL isn't caught by these packet sniffers? It doesn't appear to use SSL, because in the case of SSL, there is usually a line that tells you that there was an encrypted exchange, even though it can't give you the data. Feedly is supposed to be able to play man-in-the-middle and intercept encrypted traffic, but I'm not sure I have that working properly.

So if you can shed any light on why I couldn't sniff the iHeart WOR address, I'd be grateful. Thanks again for posting it here.

At least The WOR stream is working, But can someone Please Break their hash generator? Figuring the New owners might have some common sense to turn off the Noise Generator.. FCC talking about Helping the
AM band. First they Need to ban AM IBOC on all, especially 50kw stations.

Because they want you to listen via iHeart as that's how they advertise and pay for the 'free stream' your enjoying .. CC uses some encryption I think on the back end which be why your sniffer doesn't get the url likely because the way the streams are served by the proprietary set up they have on the back end (they are not using standard shoutcast/icecast type setups).
