Worcester's WSRS Is All-Christmas; Is It Just For The Weekend Or Longer??

Last year, Worcester's WSRS-96.1 went all-Christmas on weekends during November and December, and if my memory serves me correct, they remained with their regular Soft AC format during the week until December 20th, when they did go 24-hour all-Christmas that final week (I think they also ran the all-Christmas version of Delilah).

Today, they're all-Christmas, but as to whether this is just for the weekend or 24/7 through Christmas Day, we'll have to wait until Monday (November 21st).

Given that WSRS is A Christmas Channel (Clear Channel) Property, I'd guess that they may remain 24/7 all-Christmas instead of going back to their regular format during the week, as they did last year.

And if indeed WSRS goes all-Christmas 24/7, could either WXLO-104.5 or WORC-98.9 (which is under the same ownership as WXLO) follow suit the first of the week??
 
I wouldn't be surprised if WSRS kept the all-Christmas thing from now till Dec 25th, but I wouldn't get too carried away with thinking that WXLO or WORC-FM (or WWFX for that matter) will follow suit. With Oldies 103.3 also doing all-Christmas, which is a station that covers Worcester County fairly well, the Citadel stations might just sit back and let WSRS be the all-Christmas station. WXLO may benefit from picking up some displaced WSRS listeners anyway.

WSRS is, indeed, "100% Christmas" right thru December 25th as stated on-air by Bruce Palmer around 12:15ish this afternoon.

Had the car radio scanning the dial while on the road this afternoon about that time and happened to catch the end of John and Yoko's "Happy Christmas". And then Bruce came on and mentioned the station was now all Christmas.

No idea what time the actual flip occurred. Maybe Joe Gallant can check that out. Joe?

I just checked Yes.com, and the entire service seems to be down for the day. So it looks like we'll never know when WSRS flipped. I can tell you that I checked Yes last night, and that WSRS was NOT airing the Christmas version of Delilah, nor was sister station WSNE.

WSRS made no inclination of the change on their website, in addition, they're running on CC's old platform. However, the new website (at <a target="_blank" href=http://2005.wsrs.com/main.html>http://2005.wsrs.com/main.html</a>) looks almost ready to go, with a new and updated WSRS logo to boot. Perhaps they'll move the station to a holiday version of the new platform with the start of the 24/7 Christmas format.

At this writing (7:15 P.M. EST, November 19th), there are still problems with Yes.com; I don't know if what WSRS-96.1 played during the morning hours (info on which I was able to access) listed was for this morning or yesterday morning.

If the playlist posted was for this morning, it appears that WSRS flipped sometime after 9:30 A.M. today. Whenever it was, it would have been no more than two-and-three-quarter-hours before Bruce Palmer made the on-air announcement alluded to in this thread.

Thanks for the info; I had wondered if 'SRS was going to do what they did last year (all-Christmas on weekends; their regular format the rest of the time). But then again, it's Christmas Channel (Clear Channel) we're talking about, so going 24/7 Christmas music is really no big surprise.

WSRS went all-Christmas at 11:06 this morning (11/19) with Nat King Cole's "The Christmas Song" starting things off.
