Working on launching a part 15 am station in northern new jersey area...

You get it Rudeboy! Think big, the key to the success of Fox Sports 1650 is that it markets itself as a full blown FOX Sports radio station; it does not portray itself as a underpowered part 15 station. If you are in Flagstaff, you would never know it was a 100milliwatt part 15 AM radio station.

With four transmitters, you are off to a good start! Unlike full power stations, you can grow signal as needed and budget allows. Like you said: By the time 2013 rolls around; you will be adding more stations to your empire, instead of just getting your license for a non profit LPFM.

Enjoy your success!

....im in northern , nj about 30 mins from new york city, so the plan is to start with covering my first city of 8.7 miles and expand out to to more naboring citys!

I guess traditional folklore is that "Winners Think Big". If you can make this project succeed, just getting full coverage of your "first city" is going to be a technical challenge. It sounds like you have the enthusiasm and backing of your local community. You will keep that enthusiasm as long as they are convinced you are intent to making THEIR community something important.

If you turn out to be talented enough to manage an enterprise that covers multiple villages, town, cities, it may then be time for you to embrace traditional, full-power station ownership. For now, don't take you eye off the target: Your little town. I hope you are putting as much energy into what your programming will be as you are into what your technical methods will be, and then save a little bet of energy for: How do I monetize this thing. What do I sell, and who will buy?

Welcome to radio.... where people wear multiple hats. ::)

see this is a message i dont mind repling to, not the crap the other guy was talking about that pirate stuff...lolz but thanks so much Goat Rodeo Cowboy, god is good, i am so blessed i have a team that handles everything from music programing to marketing, promotions, all the way to a two team sales team...my market is more latin but we decided on a mixed format english and spanish to really lock the target markets from both aspecs as there are 2 pirate stations in the town, whom been hit 2 times already by our friends at the fcc and soon to will be gone,we figure they 10,000 advertising a month can be shifted to our legal station, we have the city elected officials embracing our station for the legal aspect we bring, my website alone gives the impression of how on a bigger scale we are thinking! we have a 2 fl location, the air studio is 2,500 sq ft, and the main fl is also 2,500 sq ft...we are in talks with our mayor to see if we can run the station audio on one of the city public channels where the city would get there stuff out and we can get heard in every cable subscribers homes on the channel!
