Buffalo World Series Only on WLVL 1340 am in Buffalo Market

Judging from their signal range, not many people in the Buffalo area will be able to hear it.

AM/FM radio is pretty useless when it comes to major sporting events that don't involve local teams. SXM is absolutely the way to go.

You might also try 1050 CHUM out of Toronto. They'll be carrying it as part of the TSN network.

The Series starts this Friday at 7:25 pm on WLVL 1340 am.World Series Your Home for NY YANKEES RADIO
Unfortunately, they'll probably air the ESPN Radio feed instead of the Yankee radio network feed as the home broadcasts will only air on the flagship stations as well as on SiriusXM & the MLB app.

How nice of John Sterling to unretire and screw the young play-by-play broadcasters who called the regular season contests out of an opportunity to call an extended postseason run. The least he could do was share the mic and only call certain games or certain innings of games. Of course, we all know how much Sterling hates that concept. He supposedly didn't play nice with Charlie Steiner in terms of splitting play-by-play duties many years back, which is why Steiner ultimately went out west.

I listened to some of Sterling's broadcast during game 4 of the ALCS on SXM's Yankees channel. It wasn't very good.

The Yankees might not have had many applicants, or the money they were offering the replacement might not have been enough to make someone take the job.

If the game is on "free TV", unless you are at work, driving somewhere, or sight impaired why would you listen to the radio or satellite radio play by play?
Depends who's doing the call on each broadcast.

If you're a passionate fan of a team, it's fun to listen to your home announcers who've been there all the way through and know the team inside and out, instead of the more generic national call.

If it had been the Mets in the series, I would absolutely have preferred to hear Howie Rose on 880 instead of the network TV call.

And as a lifelong Red Sox fan, when I think back on 2004, the voice I hear calling the Series win will always be Joe Castiglione on WEEI and his "Can you believe it?!?"

Any time that clip shows up now, I guarantee you you're most likely to hear Castiglione's radio call as the audio, not Joe Buck on Fox TV.

If the Yankees win this year, it'll be the same way with whatever over-the-top call Sterling ends up delivering as his finale... and you bet I'll be listening on 660 to hear it.

Rickie Ricardo is calling the World Series for the Spanish broadcast on WADO.

Neither. They didn't want to bring someone in in the middle of the season. So they moved around existing talent to cover the games, and will announce a replacement at the start of the 2025 season.

"Lucy--Eeee. You got some splaining to do".
Sorry couldn't resist.

Last year Arizona played Texas in the World Series. NY vs LA should provide a ratings boost, but no guarantee. Baseball used to play Games 1 and 2 of the World Series on Saturday and Sunday nights. They've given up on Sunday night, because the NFL has crushed them...

I remember the 'bad boys' of elementary school, who would sneak a transistor radio into class, and listen to the playoff series when there were weekday afternoon games. Do kids even listen anymore? 🤔
