Hum.Not to drift off topic again.Looking at the mainstream charts today. We need a cover version of the Barbara Mandrell's tune"I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool" with the words going "I Was Rock When Rock Wasn't Cool ". Due to all the dance and rap,hip hop teenybopper tunes on top of the charts and playlists.Older artists like the Eagles,Fleetwood Mac,Tom Petty,The Stones,Pat Benetar,Heart and my favorite Stevie Nicks will never see the top 10 of the top 100.Ok .Back on topic.I think the reason why country is going in this direction is by keeping it alive with the younger demos. If country music still sounds like it did in the 60's and the 70's .They probably have to throw in the towel and close up Nashville.due to no income.the older artists will just retire or do live shows on the Grand Ole Opry or in Branson. Some new tunes are good .and some are crap.
