WPEN's slogan is now "Philly's Sports Radio 950"

I noticed today that WPEN is now calling themselves "Philly's Sports Radio 950". I would like Greater Media to change that to "Philly's Sports Radio: 950 WPEN"

Why? They stand to lose or gain nothing by saying "WPEN"!

Julius:

I encourage you to call or email as well....... the way you express yourself on here sometimes in terms of what stations should do comes across as "I'm right and this is what they're supposed to do"

As for you saying that, why do you think they should change their slogan? Back up your opinion with more then "just because"...

because the calls are historic.

I'm into radio history as much as anybody - maybe more than most. But the fact is, many stations are getting away from basing their "brand identity" on call letters.

And from what I read here, some stations have blocked the phone numbers of chronic callers. In any case, stations don't listen to callers. Mostly calls get routed away from people who make decisions. Calling is a waste of time.
