WPIX To Air "Iron Chef America" As Food Net Fights With Cablevision

The most recent installment of "Iron Chef America" - which featured First Lady Michelle Obama - reportedly received a healthy rating for Food Network, despite not being shown on Cablevision, as a nasty battle between the cable provider and Scripps, the owner of Food Network, as well as sister network HGTV, rages on.

Despite Cablevision's beef with Scripps, it has been announced that the aforementioned installment of "Iron Chef" will air this Sunday on WPIX/11, as well as WTXX in Hartford. No word if other Tribune stations will carry the show.

These showings are probably "make goods" for the advertisers who are, no doubt, pissed that they paid for advertising expected to reach Cablevision's subscribers, but ultimately not.

Demographically speaking, Cablevision's subscribers are among the most coveted in the country just based upon the geography of their footprint.

Now that Food Network and HGTV's returning to Cablevision (as reported in another thread), I would think Food Network's plan with WPIX will be short-lived.
