Noticed that error from ****************WFOX/Milford? The station is licensed to Southport and serves the Bridgeport area. Milford is very much WPLR's territory.
Milford isn't a market either, though - it's part of New Haven. No one outside of that area in CT probably even knows where southport is... im form eastern CT and i had to look it up. milford is "the market" its in... and thats what the radio trades are going for
If a trade publication did a story on a station I VT afternoons for, theyd refer to it as KLMI Laramie....... go look up its actual City of lciense, and where it is.... not a soul outside albany county pribably knows.. but everyone knows laramie is in SE WY
Internet "journalism" at its best.As Marc correctly notes, the Cox studios are in Milford, that's probably the address that was on the press release, and most of the trades these days just reprint whatever is on the release they're sent.
Yup. Right up there with Internet editors.Internet "journalism" at its best.
Connoisseur. Not COX anymore. They bought WPLR, Star 99.9, and WFOX from COX many years ago. Then more recently they bought WEBE 108 and WICC from Cumulus and moved their studios from Bridgeport to Milford.Milford isn't a market either, though - it's part of New Haven.

Not much more to it than that.
Internet editors would be a great idea. I see so much sloppy journalism posted online.Yup. Right up there with Internet editors.![]()
