WPOI is finally not "New". Cox also has a new announcer for the station

Just tuned in to 'The Point' when heading up to the store today. The station has a new announcer for the liners between the songs. What also caught me off guard is that they are no longer "New". Anyone notice this. 1st WXGL quits calling itself "New". Now WPOI, What next WWRM.

Cox hired a new announcer. Is today really the end of the world.

And still only two DJ's, whose shifts are stretched out over nine hours each. ::)

Cox should take the two DJ 's from the Eagle and the two from the Point and put them on one station. Then they could VT the other.

Oh and merge both of the stations playlists. Cox did this in other markets were the 80's (Point) station failed. Example is WBPT in Alabama. Then on the other channel not being occupied put something else on them. Such as Urban Contemporary. Jazz, or Alternative.

Yes -- I've overheard that station today at a country club, and noticed that the bumpers now say "Soft and Contemporary -- Magic 94-9" -- without "The New" that we've been accustomed to.

It seems that the use of being "new" when they're actually old has become ot of fashion at Cox.
