Oh good grief....it's a freakin' Harris! :'(
Be prepared to replace it in 10 years when Harris stops supporting it.

But one of our alums is VP at Harris, and we got a really good deal.

You could have gotten a "really good deal" from Harris without the alum. I have clients with Harris, Nautel, CCA and Continental transmitters. I'll take Nautel any day over Harris or the others. I have a 15 year old Harris AM transmitter that they are discontinuing support for this year. I have a 40 year old Bauer and 43 year old RCA AM transmitter I can still get parts for. I am very familier with that exact transmitter you are shown installing, it will work fine for about 5 years.

Should have gone with a Nautel, dude.

The tower is 600 feet tall but it is only 400 feet above average terrain.
The secret is our multiangular quadrature phased dual polarized coat hanger antenna designed by famed Puerto Rican RF engineer Julio del Calibre. Coat hangers, stacked and phased properly, make terrific RF radiators.

And, don't forget the aluminum tape (substituted for duct tape since the aluminum tape is more conductive) along with the tin foil.

Red-Greed (and Blue Collar TV, and my relatives, and many radio/TV engineers) taught me a lot about home repair!
