WRKO Streams ESPN Radio With Keith Olbermann instead of Howie Carr

C

Casablanca

WRKO must be sending Howie Carr a not so subtle message that he is not a team player and perhaps his daze at RKO are being numbered.

While the Red Sox spring training pre-empted Carr on WRKO, RKO streamed ESPN over the Internet.

Today, Howie was replaced by KEITH OLBERMANN who interviewed the mother of the ' killed by friendly fire' ex NFL star, soldier, Pat Tillman. As you may know the Pentagon this week admitted several high ranking thugs who pass themselves off as American generals covered up the truth of Tillman's death. They first said he was killed by the "enemy" whoever that is this week. In fact, he was killed rather mysteriously by American soldiers. Tillman's mother is demanding a full Congressional investigation.

So, while Howie was babbling on about elderly drivers or someother inanity Olbermann was dealing with breaking issues.

No wonder Carr was whining when he finally got on air about WRKO. They dared to put on a real issues talk show in his place allbeit on the Internet.

Is this the beginning of the end of Carr's show. To quote Howie, "its not me but father time that's catching up" on Howie.... ;)

It was the Drive on Fox Sports Radio and it has happened before.
Howie was talking about the Presidential race btw. Was it Olbermann on FSR? He works
for MSNBC...Maybe they were playing sound cuts from KO's TV show.

I went to the WNTK feed; a half hour later, WRKO was back. This will happen again on
Thu, then on opening day (4/2) and home opener (4/10)--both WRKO and WEEI will
carry those 2 games. After that it will be WEEI doing weekday afternoon games

What I meant was that WRKO's stream was running "The Drive" from Fox Sports Radio and maybe THEY were
running the cuts of Olbermann's show.

How come when Casablanca comes on these boards, ALL he/she ever does is COMPLAIN?? I'm all for everyone using these boards if they abide by the rules, but the constant bickering and complaining about stations gets old after awhile..

I think he's given some compliments once in awhile... :) more than a few of us complain about stuff here
(though some feel--I'm using the Katie Couric way of addressing this: "_some_ feel...") --that he may be holding a grudge
from getting fired by WRKO years back...as opposed to the rest of us who are griping about things simply because we don't like how things are going at a certain station, etc.)

Grudges are like taking poison and waiting for the other person to die.
P.S. Read my posts on Jordan Rich. As to Carr he has been phoning his show in for the past four or five years. Time for him to move on. He is boring and predictable - The mortal sins of talk radio.

Maybe you are boring a predictable too.... :)

Not boring and predictable to me....I have always enjoyed Howie.

Radio still does not really understand this Internet thingy or why they're losing listeners daily, so it's not a suprise that RKO's stream didn't work right.

Lot's have people have written here that I am boring and predictable...join the club. ;)

Aw c'mon, and I've defended you a couple times too :) ;D
Predictable yes, boring no (I'm Not Boring--Jerry W.)

The streams worked correctly.

Because The Sox were on WRKO and Howie was not, WRKO had to block the game to the stream.
Since Howie's game was brodcasted out of a different studio due to this conflict, they couldn't stream his show and instead went with what you heard.

The stream is set to take from Control Room PROGRAM...Howie was on in AUDITION AND UTILITY TO the affilates.....

simple

No conspiracy here....

Keith Olbermann was on the Dan Patrick Show on ESPN radio, in studio with Dan I might add and they interviewed Mary Tillman.
So no, it wasn't The Drive on Fox Sports Radio.

Oh OK; I thought I had heard the Fox Sports top of the hour scores and then I thought I heard
"this is the Drive on Fox Sports Radio"...

Yesterday WRKO had a rerun of Howie's previous show on their stream. Then the stream went silent
and Fox Sports went on--but I guess mere seconds after the start of Howie's intro, Howie's feed
went into the stream...
