From what was described, WROR may have been using the term "Yacht Rock Weekend" but really didn't commit to a weekend of only Yacht Rock music.
On a slightly different topic, it's now been over 2 years (and one station ownership change) since Wally Brine retired yet it's still The Loren and Wally Morning Show.
Do you think this move could have an effect on some of the smaller Classic Hits stations, such as MyFM 101.3 and Big 105.3?

"Big 105.3" FM (and 1570 AM) airs a national Oldies satellite feed (I believe from Westwood One). The playlist is not determined locally, so a format tweak on another local station would not effect it.
The station could change to a different satellite feed (such as Classic Hits instead of Oldies), but 105.3/1570 seems to have a niche with Oldies in the area since none of the major market analog (HD1) stations air Oldies any more. Since the FM signal is relatively small and doesn't cover the entire Boston market, and the AM signal is in the north edge of the market and goes low power at night, it wouldn't make sense for them to compete with powerful major market Classic Hits stations.
