WRXS-X106.9/Ocean City flipping to NPR on September 1st.

Delmarvanow.com reports that WRXS/106.9 has been bought by WYPR, the owners of Baltimore's NPR station,
and will flip to being a translator, effective September 1st.

It's a pretty big loss, IMO. X106.9 had a great rotation of rock that wasn't played on more mainstream
rock stations, and has a pretty hardcore following. Apparently, it wasn't enough.

Just what we needed, another rock station getting blown up.... and taken over to be another full-powered satcaster. Another black eye for Rock fans.... ::)

Actually, the LMA begins on September 1st, by the rebroadcast of WYPR Baltimore will take a couple of weeks, so it goes dark starting Saturday. Some good dxing possible in Ocean City starting Saturday.

Wow, this stinks! Could anyone do an aircheck please? I have a site and will show if anyone's interested. I don't like talk radio! Why is it doing this? Dumb move! I'm out of the area and in fact, haven't listened to WRXS since it was pop back when broadcastmusic.com was in business. I want to listen to it before it's gone! They shouldn't have stopped streaming!
