WSJT/Tampa Flipping To Sports In August

THIS is what Jerry Petuck left 620 for? A "born to go bust" Assistant PD job he won't even have in six months?

There had to have been a behind-the-scenes fallling out with Petuck and 620, no way in hell someone leaves the security of producing the highest-rated show in the market for a job with the lowest-rated rival (1010).

Why do people always react this way? You have NO IDEA why Mr. Petuck left. Perhaps he was simply offered a better deal - which may or may not include money, hours, perks, benefits, etc?

Or perhaps he wants a new challenge? It's easy to sit back and left the ship steer itself. It's commendable to take the helm yourself though uncharted waters.

Considering the lack of success CBS has had with sports on AM 1010... and the music on 98.7 FM ever since WILD took over 94.1 FM... all Mr. Petuck needs to do is be a part of the plan and team that brings the ratings and billing up. They don't need to beat WDAE as much as they need to beat themselves.

Good luck, Mr. Petuck. Hats off to you.

Sounds like they had to announce the flip of WSJT yesterday because of the pending CBS Sports Radio announcement today. WSJT and WQYK-AM in Tampa Bay was gonna show up on that affiliate list.
Actually I would like to think they made the announcement yesterday because of the date... 6/20

"WTFN"...sounds like an acronym for the 1010 Format Change of the month ..as in "what the ... now?"

And with that will be my last condescending shot at CBS and 1010. I do applaud them for flipping a pablum pop music station to a talk format on FM. I've been one of 1010's most frequent critics (signal, no sales, etc)...and with this "Sports Network", I"m guessing no job is guaranteed, especially from The Commish who sounded like he was pleading for a gig ("I'm a fan!"..and so on)

Two of my former stations were CBS Radio affilliates listening to Win Elliot and Jim Kelly with the CBS Sportscasts.

All kidding aside, good luck and I hope we get a lot of DialGlobalWestwoodOneCBSRadio stuff like the NFL on FM!

I think Play is better than Magic, but I guess nobody else does
Different owners, therefore, different decisions made.

Many times the better station in the competition, simply goes away.

Jeff in Sa-ra-so-ta!
