WUAM 900 in albany carrying Capital News 9 audio

I just turned into 900 to see if they are on the air yet, and it appears they are carrying Capital news 9 with only the legal ID, (which tells you WUAM Watervliet, and for Real oldies tune to 1240 AM). I was watching Capital news 9 on TV, and they are mentioning that they are now on 900 AM once every couple of hours. Their website makes no reference to 900 at all.

Although I'm outside the coverage area to hear for sure - it's a done deal.

WUAM has changed format from Standards to a 24/7 feed of Capital 9 News.

Keep us updated on what you're hearing on-air.

I've wanted all-news radio in Albany for some time, so I have some satisfaction.

The reception is so-so, but passable where I am in the A-S-T area, as long as the defroster is off

Been watching and listening to Cap News 9 all day, no mention of 900. Still Legal Id's telling you this time to go to Star 101.3, Waby 1160 and Real oldies 1240. The other night during traffic reports, they mentioned 900 every couple of hours. No mention at all day today! Is this just a stunt?

Is WUAM diplexing on WAMC-AM's tower? The co-ordinates seem to indicate that they are.

More garbage on the air............

Boo hiss

:'( What's the matter? I thought everybody loves Capital News 9...now perfected on radio? What could be better?
I think this was a very creative move...borders on genious! Congrats to the owners!

Well, I do envision one major issue. Channel 9 NEVER gives the current time or temperature. It's always automatically character generated on the TV screen. Makes for pretty lame all news radio.

Then again, if you're driving a vehicle made in the last five years, almost assuredly you've got the time on the face of your radio, and the temp showing on your rear view mirror...

Down here in Tampa Bay, when the former Time Warner, now Bright House Networks Bay News 9 was briefly on some local low rated AM's, I found the difference in writing styles hampered any real future in the simulcast. Though when we have hurricanes, Bay News 9 will pop up on at least one AM and one FM in the Tampa market.
