I used to do the same thing...trying to tape the songs...and sometimes getting those annoying DJ's on there as well ;). I think probably every kid did it back in the day.

I found some old reel tapes of jazz...someone was taping WNOP for the songs in the 1960's and early 70's...and I gave them to someone to scope but they were not able to find too many nuggets.

It is like going back in a time machine and listening for a little while. Pretty cool.
